M$ will very likely not issue a Win 7 SP2 or Win 8.1 SP1 bc they wanna deprecate Win 7/8.1 in order to force the users onto Win 10, eg non-optional Give Windows Update another try and see if your problem has been fixed. It's a nice way to have my machine and I start the new year. I don't really have a plan to make one. It does the same thing as before, just says "searching for updates" and never does anything else.
