Computer Won't Sleep Windows 10
Unfortunately, none of the settings suggested here make it start working, including unmarking the "allow it to wake computer" in Device Manager. I was working on fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium replacing Vista. Does one process called "Svchost.exe" and/or a Service "Wuauserv" use A LOT OF CPU & memory ? It took me all day but everything is up to date now!

I have exactely the same issue as you describe (only solution is to force shutdown physically (button or plug !!) and boot again, being prompted to normal or repair...

Also, it requires the April 2015 servicing stack update in order to install (step 2). I know I may be behind the times but 7 was perfect for me as it's just like Vista but better.
