I have an external drive that is formatted as FAT32 and I want to convert it to NTFS, but every time I run CONVERT I get a message saying that the Maybe the people who said this have the wrong information? The drive seemed to disappear from Windows which froze copying, then it would appear again and copying would resume. Simply a case of a bad HD....alot of bad sectors. I would rather just send the hard drive back than risk it happening again and losing all my data on there? These are brand new (less than two weeks) old Western Digital Elements Portable WDE1MSBK4000BN 400GB External Hard Drives.
