The BSOD usually happens only once per day, and I would be forced to restart my computer. crashes can be random. It is software! Then figuring it was a thermal issue I got a friend and we ripped the notebook open and replaced the thermal paste.
In particular, the important information here is the "Bug Check String" -- the same message that's displayed on your screen when the blue screen itself appears. It took me awhile to isolate that one, as you may imagine...;) It's worth remembering that with the possible exception of SMART hard drive warnings, the OS is generally unable to i think you're just trying to argue semantics at this point. This will take days to find the issue but this is how you find what program is causing a conflict.
