Is there something else going on possibly? Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time. And thank you for being the world's top dog, it is a big responsibility. My machine is Compaq Presario C5oo and after blowing it with vacuum cleaner (not inside, just the keyboard, fan and vents) it just wouldn't boot.
